Advent Show: When St Nicholas Came – 30 November 2025
When it gets dark early outside and the scent of pine needles, hot chocolate and biscuits fills the air, it’s time to get into the festive spirit here: on Sunday, 30 November 2025, the Ahrensburg Musical School invites you to its grand Advent show, ‘When St Nicholas Came…’. The show starts at 4.00 pm, with doors opening at 3.30 pm – please plan your journey so that you arrive with plenty of time to spare. There will be an interval so you can take a breather, have a drink and let your first impressions sink in.
Curtain up: Our pupils & special guest Elisabeth Hübert
As always with us, the focus of the afternoon will be on our pupils. With passion, team spirit and a good dose of stage fright, they have put together a winter programme to get you in the mood for Advent: featuring lively ensemble numbers, quiet moments to listen to, and that special spark of stage magic that makes the anticipation of Christmas just that little bit greater.
We are delighted to welcome our special guest, Elisabeth Hübert – one of Germany’s best-known musical theatre actresses. She first came to the attention of a wide audience through her TV-selected leading role as ‘Jane’ in the Disney musical TARZAN and has since impressed in numerous other productions, including Sunset Boulevard and The Visit. Look forward to her commanding stage presence, radiant voice and that special charm that instantly warms any auditorium.
The venue: Alfred-Rust-Saal – easily accessible, seated, with fixed seating
The performance will take place in the Alfred-Rust-Saal at the Selma-Lagerlöf-Gemeinschaftsschule, Wulfsdorfer Weg 71, 22926 Ahrensburg. What to expect artistically
‘When St Nicholas Came…’ is our Advent show for the whole family – festive, cheerful, full of heart and humour. You can look forward to a carefully curated mix: energetic ensemble songs, soulful solos, short skits and Advent classics with a light musical twist. Our aim is simple: a gift for the audience – an afternoon spent together that sends you into the first Sunday of Advent with a smile, warm ears and perhaps a catchy tune stuck in your head.
What’s particularly lovely about this production is that you’ll see up-and-coming young performers and more experienced talents sharing the stage. The younger performers learn from the more experienced ones, and everyone carries the show together. And when Elisabeth Hübert joins them, it creates that goosebumps moment we love about theatre: a true professional meets passionate students – live, immediate, and completely approachable.
