Musicalschule Ahrensburg

Growing together. Surpassing our limits.

Telling stories through dance, song and acting.

Learn musical theatre in Ahrensburg — acting, dance and singing

Since 2014, Musicalschule Ahrensburg has been a place for people who want more than just lessons. Children, teenagers and adults learn singing, dance and acting together here, and develop so much more along the way: self-confidence, stage presence and a real sense of community.

Whether you're stepping onto a stage for the first time or want to develop your skills further, you'll find your place at MSA. Our instructors are active stage professionals themselves and will support you on your journey, with regular performances in front of a real audience too, if you'd like.

MSA is recognised by the state of Schleswig-Holstein as an institution that prepares students for vocational training. It does not offer its own vocational training, but prepares students specifically for it.

How the MSA works

  1. 1

    Getting to know each other

You start with a trial lesson (€17, fully credited when you enrol).
You get to know the MSA, our instructors and the lessons, and we get to know you. Together, we find the right course.
Trial lessons usually take place twice a year: after the summer holidays and at the end of January.

  2. 2

    Learning together

After that, regular classes begin, once a week in groups of no more than 20 people.
It's about singing, dancing and acting, but above all about trying things out and being creative together. Everyone learns at their own pace.

  3. 3

    Performing

Every course works towards performances, from a presentation for family and friends to a big show, for example at the Stadtfest, at the Altonale or in our own productions.
If you want to, you can be up on stage. And if you get stage fright, we'll be right by your side.

  4. 4

    Keep growing

Many people stay for years because the community holds them together and they keep growing.
If you'd like to go on to do this professionally, there are ways to do it: individual lessons and the MSA On Track programme prepare you for entrance exams. The MSA is recognised as a pre-vocational training provider.
Both are equally valid: most people come for the joy of it.

Voices from the MSA community

Standing on stage … makes me grow beyond myself again and again.

I joined MSA when I was 8 and discovered my passion for musicals and made lots of new friends. Being on stage has made me more confident and open to lots of new things, and it helps me keep growing beyond myself.

Wiebke young adult

… from a shy little tot to a confident secondary school student.

"Mum, I painted a picture for Jacqui and Hauke. It's hanging in the office now!" Our son has loved the MSA for 4 years now. It's the highlight of his week, because there you meet friends and role models in a family atmosphere, enjoy great lessons with brilliant instructors and, as in his case, develop quite naturally from a shy little kid into a self-confident secondary school student. During the many performances and workshops, we parents are also regularly put to the test when it comes to our emotional resilience, because normally there isn't a dry eye among the parents. MSA – you are wonderful!!

We learn a lot!

What I really love about Musicalschule Ahrensburg is that you can learn singing, acting and dancing all at once. We learn so much! The instructors who teach there are super nice. And I think Jacqui and Hauke are amazing too! Thanks to the MSA, I get to be on stage for TARZAN right now. The MSA is just brilliant!!

Jannik Musical Teens

… a very familial environment where you instantly feel well looked after. Actually, let me give the final version cleanly: … a very family-like environment, where you instantly feel really well looked after.

The musical school offers us a very family-like environment, where you instantly feel well looked after. We are particularly won over by the exciting calendar of performances that comes round every year and by the consistently professional instructors.

Benjamin adult course and father of two students

He feels warmly welcomed every week.

Laurens really appreciates the combination of acting, dance and singing at the Musicalschule Ahrensburg. He feels warmly welcomed every week, has a huge amount of fun in lessons and, in addition to the artistic side, picks up plenty that helps with school, such as presentations. Alongside great events like the summer festival, his absolute highlight was the Thriller flashmob at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, which was covered by radio and television.

Svenja mother of a Musical Teens student

… we can let ourselves go.

For me, the MSA is a place of freedom, where I can simply switch off and push everyday life aside. There are wonderful groups where we can be who we are and be accepted just as we are, and where we can let ourselves go.

Yvonne adult course

One of the loveliest moments was when I played little Anna

One of the best moments was when I played little Anna in the "Let it Snow" show, little Freja in the 10 Year Show and little Elli in the Advent show ;)

Louisa Musical Teens

The MSA is a real home from home for our daughter!

The MSA is a real feel-good place for our daughter! Here she can follow her great passion for singing, dancing and acting together with newly made friends and professional, warm-hearted instructors. For our daughter, the highlights are the stage performances, including the Thriller flash mob with 150 dancers and the 10-year anniversary show, which will stay in our memory in a special way.

MSA nurtures and strengthens their self-confidence.

Charlotte (10 years old, at the MSA for six years) loves the positive energy in class. She absolutely loves dancing and singing, and she's so happy to be part of this wonderful community where she can share her passion. The MSA nurtures and strengthens her self-confidence, and her experiences on stage create special memories that last a lifetime. We are very grateful to Jacqui and Hauke for the commitment and passion they put into the MSA, and we are delighted for Charlotte to have this unique experience.

Meet our team

Behind every group, every rehearsal and every performance are people who share their passion for musicals every single day. Our instructors come from a wide range of backgrounds in stage work, training and production – and they bring their experience directly into their teaching. But above all, they share one conviction: People grow best where they are supported, challenged and valued. That is exactly what MSA stands for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Was kostet eine Probestunde?

Die monatlichen Beiträge für Gruppenkurse liegen between €0.00 and €76.00 pro Monat.
