Our singing lessons are aimed at all age groups – no prior experience required:
- Musical Mini Movers (ages 3–6) – playful exploration of one’s own voice, singing with movement
- Musical Kids (6–10 years) – first musical songs, posture, breathing and a sense of rhythm
- Musical Teens (ages 11–14) – voice training, harmony singing, solo work
- Musical Adults (aged 15 and over) – advanced vocal technique, song interpretation, stage singing
- Private singing lessons – personalised coaching for musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz, chanson or classical
- APT students – preparatory lessons for musical theatre training programmes and universities

Why singing lessons at the MSA are different
The MSA is not a traditional music school. We don’t view singing in isolation. For us, singing is part of the stage – alongside acting, movement and the experience of performing in front of an audience.
Our singing teachers are active stage professionals with roles in German and international musical theatre productions. They know what a voice that fills a theatre sounds like – and bring this knowledge directly into their lessons.

Do I need to be able to sing already?
No. Many of our pupils sang in front of others for the first time here. Our courses are suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike.
At what age is it a good idea to start singing lessons?
From as young as 3 years old in the Musical Mini Movers – in a playful way and without any pressure. For one-to-one lessons, we recommend from around 10 years old, when the voice is ready for more structured singing.
Private lessons or group lessons?
Private singing lessons give us the time to tailor our approach to your voice, your goals and your level of proficiency. Group singing takes place in the Musical Ensemble courses.
What distinguishes the MSA from a music school?
At a music school, the focus is on learning an instrument. Here, we combine singing with acting and dance to create a holistic stage training programme. Our tutors are active musical theatre performers – this makes the lessons practical and lively.
Can I prepare for musical theatre entrance exams?
Yes. We have many years’ experience in preparing students for entrance exams to musical theatre training programmes and universities – including the ICMT and other professional programmes.
