🎉 The Musicalschule Ahrensburg at the 2025 Town Festival
From 13 to 15 June 2025, Ahrensburg once again became a festival town: with music, dance, arts and crafts, culinary delights and stage performances, the 2025 Town Festival became a stage for socialising, creativity and joie de vivre. Once again this year, the Musicalschule Ahrensburg was an integral part of the programme – with four scheduled performances, three successful shows and countless spine-tingling moments. 💫
🎭 Our performances – highlights & variety at the 2025 City Festival
Over the two days of the 2025 City Festival, our students took centre stage a total of four times – on the main stage on Hagener Allee and in the Große Straße summer lounge. Here’s what we had in store:
- Saturday, 14 June 2025
🕜 1.30 pm – Hagener Allee stage: Musical highlights from ‘… & Julia’, ‘Wicked’ and ‘The Lion King’
🕒 3.00 pm – Summer Lounge: participatory programme featuring dance, interaction and lots of curious guests - Sunday, 15 June 2025
🕧 12.30 pm – Hagener Allee stage: high-energy scenes from ‘MJ’, ‘SpongeBob’, ‘Hairspray’ and ‘Snow White’
🕓 2.00 pm – Summer Lounge: interactive programme (unfortunately cancelled due to the weather)
We were lucky: the main performance on Sunday afternoon went ahead in dry weather and in front of a cheerful audience – a real highlight, before the rain brought the festival to an end in the afternoon. 🌧️
🌟 Stage, production & team of instructors
What unfolded on the stage was the result of months of preparation. Whether pre-schoolers, teenagers or our adult students – every age group contributed with personality and dedication. It was particularly touching to see some of our youngest performers take to the stage for the very first time. And they mastered it with flying colours. 🧡
The teaching team, led by Jacqui Dunnley-Wendt, supports the students with great warmth, humour and a high level of professionalism. Together with the families supporting them from the wings, this creates an environment in which children and adults alike can flourish.

📰 City Festival 2025 – Thinking outside the box
The town festival itself once again offered a wide variety of attractions in 2025: music on three stages, activities organised by local clubs, arts and crafts, a children’s programme, street food and catering. The atmosphere was lively and colourful – despite the somewhat changeable weather. The local press reported on a successful start to the festival, a positive response from visitors and a wonderful sense of community – a true Ahrensburg summer classic.

🎯 Conclusion & Outlook
The Musicalschule Ahrensburg was once again represented at the 2025 City Festival with great dedication. Even though the fourth performance on Sunday could not go ahead due to the weather and – perhaps also because of earlier performance times – the audience was at times a little more reserved, the shows remain a resounding success for us.
What counts is the stage as a place of learning and a space for experiences. For many students, it was their first step into the spotlight – and a moment they’re sure never to forget. 👣✨
