Summer Festival 2023
On Saturday 24 June 2023, it was that time of year again: for the second year running, students gathered in glorious weather for the Musicalschule Ahrensburg’s 2023 Summer Festival.At the musical school, family members, friends and the MSA team came together to meet one another or get to know each other better, to celebrate the wonderful sense of community at the musical school and, of course, to admire the performances by all (!) the school’s groups during the stage programme.
Summer Festival 2023 – a new tradition?
Whilst the 2022 Summer Festival was conceived and planned at short notice, following the rather last-minute cancellation of the Ahrensburg Town Festival – which had taken away an important performance opportunity for our students, who were already in the middle of rehearsals and preparations for their performances – fortunately the Town Festival took place again this year – and yet we enjoyed ‘our’ Summer Festival so much that we wanted to celebrate it again in 2023.
Following the – not entirely straightforward – planning, led by Jacqui and Britta, we were delighted to find plenty of helping hands who actively supported the set-up, dismantling and running of the event; not to mention the generous donations for the buffet (for which we’d like to say a big thank you once again!)!
Whilst delicious refreshments and a range of culinary treats were on offer in and outside “Café Studio 2”, all the groups from the Musicalschule Ahrensburg took to the specially erected stage in the bend of Bogenstraße together for the first time (albeit one after the other) and, from the afternoon into the early evening, presented the results of their work over the preceding months to the large and curious audience. We’d like to thank all the instructors who put so much love and hard work into the individual performances and (almost) all of whom also came to the 2023 Summer Festival!
We were delighted to welcome the Ahrensburger TSV marching band as special surprise guests! As Hauke himself received his basic musical training there and gained some of his earliest musical experiences (it was a long time ago…!), the “Spielmöpse”, as they call themselves, were “subtenants” at the musical school last year, after they were no longer able to rehearse at their long-standing rehearsal home, the Fritz-Reuter-Schule, “for reasons”. We’re delighted that our contact has been revived (even though it never really broke off) and would like to thank you for your varied performance at our 2023 summer festival!
We were also able to present our “Student of the Year” award once again on stage at our summer festival, and we’re delighted that Lisann Gaebler was chosen for this honour this year: congratulations, Lisann – we’re delighted that you’re part of the MSA community with such enthusiasm, joy, reliability and passion!
Summer Festival 2023 – a wonderful day in so many ways
Especially after the recent storms and a rather mixed weather forecast even the day before, we were nervous about whether we’d be lucky with the weather again – a Plan B would have meant massive restrictions. But the weather held out, and we saw the few clouds that appeared now and then as a welcome bit of relief rather than a threat.
In our view, the success or failure of an event such as the 2023 Summer Party cannot be measured purely in financial terms, but above all by how well it is received and the atmosphere that prevails. And judging by these criteria, we would say that our Summer Party was a resounding success! We’d like to thank EVERYONE once again who contributed to this success in one way or another 🙂
