Musicalschule Ahrensburg in the *Hamburger Abendblatt*

Last week, editor Sebastian Knorr paid us a visit during our Young Adults II class, and after speaking to our students about their work and motivation here following the lesson with Jacqui and Elizabeth, his article about the Musicalschule Ahrensburg was published in the *Hamburger Abendblatt* this week. We are delighted with the positive comments from our students, as well as the friendly and very detailed article that the newspaper has published – a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved!

This article about the Musicalschule Ahrensburg in the *Hamburger Abendblatt* also addresses, amongst other things, a topic that is very important to us, and the headline: ‘Fun and group dynamics are more important than competition’ captures it very well. In the Young Adults II group in particular, there are quite a few participants who attend our classes with great motivation and dedication, but who have clearly decided for themselves to pursue acting, dance and singing exclusively as a hobby. However, there are also the first few students who have set themselves the goal of pursuing a career on the stage. Both groups meet together at our school as a single rehearsal group and work together whilst having a great deal of fun. We at the Ahrensburg Musical School are keen to have both groups at our school, and for us it’s definitely all about shared enjoyment and a positive experience. Fortunately, a competitive mindset has so far found no place here 🙂

Naturally, we often find ourselves wondering what our students actually think about their time with us. So it was a real pleasure to hear just how positively our students spoke not only about our work but also about the friendships they’ve formed and the sense of togetherness amongst the students. We think it’s brilliant that the Musicalschule Ahrensburg has found a place in our students’ hearts that goes beyond the 90-minute weekly lesson. And when that energy comes to the fore, as it did during the press interview with the *Hamburger Abendblatt*, that naturally makes us very happy too 😉
