Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. 2017 in Ahrensburg

With Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr., the Musical Teens from Ahrensburg School have staged a German premiere of their very first full-length musical production at the Alfred-Rust-Saal!

Disney’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND Jr. in Ahrensburg!

On 5 February 2017, the big day finally arrived: after focused and intensive preparation, our Musical Teens took to the stage of the Alfred-Rust-Saal and presented Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. to a German audience in a very impressive performance, entirely in German in a translation by Hauke Wendt, with everything acted, danced and sung live: Bravo!

Jacqui Dunnley-Wendt’s lovingly crafted production was practically tailor-made for the young performers. Yet, when rehearsals began, the translation of the material – which had been supplied in English – wasn’t even complete, so we had to adopt the famous ‘salami tactic’ at first. Here, too, our young and clearly highly motivated students showed us just how dedicated and professional they already are, and didn’t let this situation faze them in the slightest.

It was also wonderful for us to see how the various groups from the Musicalschule Ahrensburg initially worked on their own and then, during the subsequent joint rehearsals, very quickly came together to form a fairly cohesive group – there was a fantastic team spirit here!

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all the Musical Teens who took part in our performance of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr., as well as to all the helpers who supported us with this ambitious project.

The German premiere of Disney’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND Jr. took place alongside the performance of RITTER ROST as part of the ‘Musicals in Ahrensburg’ series organised by Musical Creations Entertainment.

ahrensburg24.de published a very complimentary article with lots of lovely photos, which can be found here: “A Bravo for Ahrensburg’s Children.” Unfortunately, ahrensburg24.de is no longer online.

What we’d still like to know, though, is: who won the fantastic prize draw organised by Hamburger Sparkasse? ?
