The ICMT and the MSA announce a partnership in 2025

Press release – Musical Creations Entertainment GmbH (MCE) from Ahrensburg and the renowned International College of Musical Theatre (ICMT) from London unveiled their new partnership last week. The event took place at the Musicalschule Ahrensburg, which is part of MCE. During the press conference, representatives from both institutions outlined the aims and benefits of the partnership.

Kenneth Avery-Clark, co-founder and headteacher: “Through this partnership, we aim to offer our students a unique opportunity to take their first professional step into the German musical theatre scene and industry. In doing so, they will benefit directly from our partner’s extensive experience and strong industry network.”

Twelve students from London are currently completing a three-month course in the castle town. They are taught by instructors from both London and the Musicalschule Ahrensburg. Hauke Wendt, Managing Director of MCE: “For us, this collaboration with an internationally oriented university offers the opportunity to break new ground in many ways, which will particularly benefit our musical school.

But there are many winners here: starting with our instructors, who are expanding their teaching portfolio, through to our local students, who are able to forge international contacts and gain first-hand insight into how an artistic higher education programme in musical theatre works. We also see Ahrensburg as a town benefiting from this. After all, in this way, Ahrensburg is becoming a temporary university hub.”

A particular highlight of the day were the impressive performances by the ICMT students. Through their performances, they demonstrated their exceptional talent. The show acts offered a taste of the high artistic standard that the partnership aims to foster, as well as a preview of the students’ final exams, which will take place on 24 and 25 May on the campus of the Musicalschule Ahrensburg.
