After completing her vocal studies in Karlsruhe, Simone Voicu-Pohl began her solo career at the Landestheater Detmold.
Numerous opera, operetta and musical productions have taken her to venues including the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the theatres in Dortmund, St Gallen and Bolzano, the Ettlingen Castle Festival, and the Schmidt Theatre in Hamburg. She has appeared in leading roles in major productions such as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s *The Phantom of the Opera*, Roman Polanski’s *The Dance of the Vampires* at the Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg, and the Disney musical *Beauty and the Beast* in Stuttgart.
Alongside her solo career, Simone Voicu-Pohl began passing on her expertise to the next generation.
As a singing tutor, she shared her experience with students at the ‘Joop van den Ende’ Musical Academy from 2009 until its closure, and also taught the child performers in Hamburg in the Walt Disney musical ‘Tarzan’, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical *Love Never Dies* and the musical *The Miracle of Bern*.
At the Norderstedt Municipal Music School, she leads the musical theatre ensemble for adults. Supporting young people is particularly close to her heart. Having founded the NEUE AKADEMIE DER DARSTELLENDEN KÜNSTE in Norderstedt, she works with a dedicated and professional team of lecturers to nurture the next generation of musical theatre talent.
In recent years, she has been a permanent judge on the ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition for young talent at state and national level in the categories of pop singing and classical singing.
